Description
Source: World of Warcraft
Character: Undead
My first full colored picture, commissioned by a friend in Louisiana. To read a fuller description of what the picture is all about, and my other thoughts on it, look here: [link] . Consequently, I still love the original bare, sketch look *sigh* because it's more fitting to my style. Still, I'm proud that I managed to do it in color! It was tiresome and, somehow, doing pictures on Painter IX make me slightly nauseated - but it was great all the same.
The undead on his stone lion is done by hand with Prismacolor colored pencils and a thin black permenant marker. I used the marker to outline the undead, but only pencils for the stone lion to make a sort of contrast. The background is done entirely in Painter IX, which is why I decided to put this under Digital. I would much rather have used actual acrylics, the way I was taught, but the paper the drawing is on wouldn't have held it properly. So the background isn't as good, in my opinion, me being a rather unskilled digital artist - but I knew enough about actual acrylics to make it work somewhat.
My favorite part - excluding the undead on his lion - is the sky. I think the sky is lovely.

Very nice. The landscape looks lovely. I personally can't stand paints in general so I probably would have went with the digital approch.
